Descreened Launches
Founded in Dallas, Texas by students dedicated to helping youth reduce excessive screen time and rebuild offline habits.
How a local observation turned into a student-led digital wellness movement.
Founded in November 2025 and based in Dallas, Texas, Descreened is a student-led initiative focused on reducing excessive screen use and raising awareness about its mental health effects.
After noticing how often children and teens in our community turned to phones during free time, waiting rooms, and everyday moments, we wanted to create simple ways to encourage screen-free habits, mental wellness, and real-life connection.
What started as a local effort has grown into a community-driven movement involving educational content, screen-free resources, and outreach initiatives. Through awareness campaigns, screen-free kits, and student-led chapters, Descreened works to make healthier screen habits more accessible and engaging for young people everywhere.
